My volunteering in Kenya
Through this blog, I would like to share you my first experience as a volunteer with KVDA (kenyan volunteering development association) which gathers 2 programs (one in a school, and the other in a hospital) and takes place in Mfangano island. I wanted to show you how life here is so different than ours, how people can live with terrible conditions but, yet, be big-hearted persons ... I will also tell you my meetings, my volunteering, and my discoveries so you can follow my adventure!!

Before to go on Mfangano island, the place where will take place my volunteering, i slept 2 nights at YMCA hostel in Nairobi. The 18th at night, Oneka, the manager of KVDA (volunteering association), picked me at the airport to join the hostel. The climat was so opressing!😥

After a very long journey of 8 hours inside a kenian bus, over kenians road (🤢), I arrived at Mbita, a little town of Homa bay county where Mr.George, the leader of the project picked me and shew me a warm hostel where I slept for the night.

On saturday, my friend Faith welcomed me in her home where i met her family. It was a very good moment! But until the evening, i've felt sick so i'm staying at home on sunday

A week very intensive at every levels: physically, emotionnally, psychologically... I discovered so many things around the place where I stay 🏝️👀 and I also learnt about myself.
