Morning visit = Salem witches museum
Afternoon visit = house of the 7 gables
Living during the 17th century in Salem wasn’t fun : anyone could be accused of being a witch and was then hanged.
During the trial, the accused (mainly women, but also a few men) were naked because priests would look for the “mark of the devil”. It was obviously very subjective, even if this was called “science” !! 😱
The House of the 7 Gables is a house where Nathaniel Hawthorne (famous American writer) lived. In his book called « the house of the 7 gables”, he tells about witchcraft trials. His great great great grandfather was a judge who condemned many witches.
