Shymkent

Le 13 Octobre, après avoir pris un taxi partagé, nous arrivons à Shymkent, où il pleut des cordes. Pour éviter la pluie, nous allons directement dans un restaurant de la gare routière prendre le déjeuner. Devinez-vous ce que l'on a commandé ? Un beshbarmak bien sûr !

English :

On the 13th October after taking a shared taxi we arrive in Shymkent where it is raining so hard. To avoid the rain we go directly to a restaurant in the bus station to have lunch. Can you guess what we had? Beshbarmak of course!

Notre temps à Shymkent est compté, c'est juste une étape de transit car nous voulons être en Ouzbékistan demain. Il se met à neiger ! Flavie est trop contente, nous n'avons pas vu de neige depuis Décembre 2013 ! Nous n'avons pas réservé d'hôtel et nous passons une bonne heure à chercher un hôtel abordable (15 euros pour une chambre standard). Bien sûr, nous tombons sur un hôtel sans Internet car il ferme pour rénovation dans une semaine. Nous trouvons donc un bar-restaurant confortable pour nous reposer, écrire le blog et dîner.

Our time in Shymkent is quite short, it is actually just a transit before Uzbekistan where we plan to be tomorrow. It starts snowing! Flavie is so happy! We haven't seen snow since December 2013! We have no hotel reservation and we spend almost 1 hour under the snow to find an hotel with affordable price (15euros for a basic room). Of course, there is not Internet, because it will be closed in one week for renovation. So we find a comfortable bar-restaurant where we can rest, write the blog and have dinner.

Le lendemain nous nous levons vers 8h et trouvons le point de départ des marshrutkas pour Tashkent, la capitale ouzbèke, située à une vingtaine kilomètres de l'autre côté de la frontière. Nous sommes un peu l'attraction dans le mini-bus et tout le monde veut savoir d'où nous venons. Il nous faut deux heures pour rejoindre la frontière, là nous comprenons que le mini-bus ne va pas traverser et qu'il nous faudra trouver un autre véhicule de l'autre côté. Nous hésitons à changer de l'argent ouzbek de ce côté de la frontière, mais Otarek, un Ouzbek nous fait signe que le taux sera meilleur en Ouzbékistan. Voilà c'est l'heure de quitter le Kazakhstan une deuxième fois, après 4 jours dans la partie sud du pays.

The day after, we wake up around 8 am and find the departure point of the marshrutkas for Tashkent, the Uzbek capital city, located around 20 km far from the border. We are a little bit the main interest in the mini-bus and people want to know where we are from. It takes around 2 hours to reach the border, where we understand that the marshrutka is not going to cross it and that we will have to find another vehicle on the other side. We hesitate to change money in Kazakhstan, but Otarek, an Uzbek guy explains us that the rate will be better on the other side. So it's time to leave Kazakhstan for the second time, after 4 days in the Southern part of the country.
