During the reign of Vytautas the Great and throughout the 15th century this castle was used to receive foreign guests diplomats, kings and their messengers as well as to sign important treatis, to hold meetings of the Duke's Council and for various feasts and celebrations.
Today this castle is used for various events and celebration.
