Et oui, 26 jours passés en Colombie, ça passe vite tout ça... mais on en a bien profité ! Voici quelques réflexions en vrac sur ce début de voyage :
[ENGLISH] Well, already 26 days spent in Colombia... time flies, but we enjoyed a lot! Here are a few thoughts about the beginning of our trip:
We have already spent several millions this month... and are not broke yet! The Colombian peso rate makes us feel like millionaires, with 1C$, we get 2366 pesos and with 1€, we get 3565 pesos!
We like the bus, we love the bus, We bussed something around 50 hours... almost exclusively in the mountains!
We are now Airbnb experts, we use it almost everyday! We believe that we deserve the status of Superguest or Guest Star :-)
We love pasta.
We tried both, we prefer the Spanish version of the word tourista than the English one...
Colombia not Columbia.Colombia = drug and violence, WRONG! 'Really... you are going to Colombia?! Be careful!' Colombia is too often reduced to its dark past which is now behind (yes, it is true that drug is still a huge industry in Colombia but violence associated to it has dramatically fallen down). It suffers a lot from its international image that sticks to people’s mind and its adorable inhabitants are well aware of it. They even often ask us to come back home with the truth so here we go... if you don’t know yet, your next destination will be Colombia! Not only will you receive a warm and generous welcome by the always-smiling inhabitants, but it is also a wonderful and very diversified country. The Pacific region, the Caribbean, the Amazonian jungle, the mountains with several peaks as high as 5000m (15 000 feet)... what else could one ask for? We didn’t have the chance to discover it all, but what we did see just made us want to come back soon!
Apparently, we are not alone to wish to go back... Tourism jumped from 50 000 visitors in the early 2000s to more than 6.5 millions in 2017, an increase of 130 times!
We met a lot of mochileros (backpackers), apparently many other people have had the same idea as us...
It looks like German and French people reconciled, they decided to invade Colombia together, on a touristic point of view of course!
Colombian food... hum [long awkward silence]... Argentina, we are on our way!

C.est vrai çà nous donne vraiment envie d’y aller!!
