[ENGLISH] After more than 2 months travelling in this big country, we leave with emotion and our head full of memories! It’s now time to sum up!
- We still like to spend our nights in the buses… but this time the roads in the middle of nowhere are straight!
- We met great people, Argentineans or other backpackers like us. It was very nice to meet some of them again on our way, and we will be happy to see them once arrived in Europe!
- Now we speak “Argentinean”: « A que hora chegan ? Acha esta la chave. Quieren empanadas al pocho para chevar ? » Forget your Spanish classes… they speak with the sound « che » at almost every word!!
- We love empanadas and we stole the recipe to make some at home!
- The Argentinean beef meat isn’t a myth, it’s really tender and juicy!
- We are still amazed by the diversity and the richness of the landscapes, we have been blown away and we are happy to have taken our time to discover this beautiful country.
- When you ask for help to find something, this is what the Argentinean answer (even if they have no idea of what you are looking for and where it is): « 3 cuadras derecho, 4 a la derecha y 2 y media mas a la izquierda despues estara a la mano derecha ». You arrive there and you don’t find what you asked for, so you ask another person and it starts again… You end up thinking that it’s better to wait to encounter what you are looking for by chance on your way :-D
- Amazing animals!! We liked seeing crocodiles, toucans, monkeys, lamas, guanacos, vicunas, ostriches, penguins, sea lions, whales, eagles, flamingos, foxes, condors…- We liked the wines, but we cannot say that they were as good as the French ones…
- We enjoyed the beers from the numerous Patagonian microbreweries.
- We liked hitchhiking, we met nice people!
- We were surprised to feel like in Europe in some of the cities.
- We liked our short road trips with rented cars, feeling free surrounded by amazing landscapes.
- Argentina has also been time for some « firsts »: our first 4-days trek, our first Workaway, first days being 30 years old for one of us, our first bus trip of more than 24 hours, first time eating lama…
