 Depuis la veille au soir, nous sommes de retour sur la côte. Antofagasta n'est sans doute pas la ville la plus accueillante. Son histoire industrielle en fait une ville poussiéreuse et les constructions anarchiques des quartiers périphériques n'invitent pas à la flânerie. Nous sommes arrivés dans une ambiance tendue. Dans le taxi qui nous menait du terminal de bus à la pension de famille, nous assistons, une nouvelle fois, aux émeutes qui secouent le pays et plus largement l'Amérique du sud. Coincés entre les manifestants et les brigades anti émeutes, nous voyons voler les pavés faces aux lances à incendie et aux grenades lacrymogènes. De quoi faire réfléchir surr la direction que prend notre monde.

12/13/19 Antofagasta

 Since the night before, we are back on the coast. Antofagasta is probably not the most welcoming city. Its industrial history makes it a dusty city and the anarchic constructions of the outlying districts do not invite strolling. We arrived in a tense atmosphere. In the taxi that took us from the bus terminal to the boarding house, we witness, once again, the riots that are shaking the country and more broadly South America. Stuck between the protesters and the riot brigades, we see the cobblestones flying in front of fire hoses and tear gas grenades. It's enough to make us think about the direction our world is taking.

Nous logeons à L'hostel playa blanca, presque en front de mer, dans un quartier plutôt calme. Encore une fois, il nous faut louer une voiture pour 24 h. Les prix les plus intéressants étant à l'aéroport nous entamons une traversée de la ville en transport collectif. Aventure assurée. Depuis Playa Blanca, prendre le bus 103. Pour 1500 pesos chacun, et 2 heures de transport, il nous mène au nord de la ville, sur un rond point. Là, nous attendons le bus orange, direction Mejillones. Pour 2000 pesos, il nous dépose sur le bord de l'autoroute, au niveau de l'aéroport qui se trouve à 1 km, que nous rejoindront à  pied! Il semble  encore une fois que le piéton est été oublié. L aéroport est tout neuf, mais  aucune liaison de bus pour la ville, distante de 25 km. A moins qu' ici aussi  la pression des taxis, fait qu' il n y aura pas de bus. Faut être motivé. Une fois la voiture récupérée, nous retraversons la ville en ¾ d'heure. Donc, oui, c'est faisable en bus mais un brin long quand on habite au sud.

Pour info le taxi collectivo (taxi à plusieurs)  prend 6000 par personne de l'aéroport au centre ville. Un vrai business Taxis, ici encore, on peut  démonter l arnaque, un taxi collectivité, c est à  dire partager avec d autres personnes inconnues, te coutera 6 000 pesos par personne, le taxis  ne partira que lorsque il y aura au moins 4 voyageurs.Gain pour le taxi 24 000 la course!

Si tu voyage  seul c est intéressant, par contre si tu es 2, le taxis peut faire la même course si tu ne veux pas du collectif pour 15 000 la course. Lui est bien moins gagnant et insistera pour que tu fasses un collectivo. Et moi je veux bien un collectivo si 15 000 sont divisés par 4 :-):-):-):-):-):-)    

We stay at L'hostel playa blanca, almost on the waterfront, in a rather quiet area. Again, we have to rent a car for 24h. The most interesting prices being at the airport we start a crossing of the city by public transport. Adventure assured. From Playa Blanca, take bus 103. For 1500 pesos each, and 2 hours of transport, it takes us to the north of the city, on a roundabout. There, we wait for the orange bus, towards Mejillones. For 2000 pesos, he drops us off on the side of the highway, at the airport which is 1 km away, which we will join on foot! It seems once again that the pedestrian is forgotten. The airport is brand new, but no bus link to the city, 25 km away. Unless here too the pressure of taxis, so there won't be a bus. You have to be motivated. Once the car is recovered, we cross the city in 3/4 of an hour. So, yes, it's doable by bus but a bit long when you live in the south.

...FYI the taxi collectivo (several taxi) takes 6000 per person from the airport to the city center. A real business Taxis, here again, we can disassemble the scam, a community taxi, ie share with other unknown people, will cost you 6,000 pesos per person, the taxi will leave only when there are at least 4 travelers. Gain for the taxi 24,000 the ride!

If you travel alone it's interesting, on the other hand if you are 2, the taxi can do the same race if you do not want the collective for 15,000 the race. He's a lot less successful and will insist that you make a collectivo. And I want a collectivo if 15,000 are divided by 4 :-))-):):):):))))
