Plein sudNous ouvrons les yeux à Arequipa. Il est 07h30. Il nous faut régler d'urgence un problème administratif. La veille en vérifiant nos passeports, nous avons remarqué l'inscription 15 TUR sur le tampon d'entrée au Pérou. Après renseignement, c'est bien ce que nous craignons. Nous sommes clandestins depuis 15 jours. Nous n'avions qu' une autorisation de séjour de 15 jours seulement. Alors pourquoi comment, on ne sais pas trop, pour rappel nous avons franchi la frontière péruvienne en pleine nuit, à 3h00 du matin, donc pas bien réveillé. Et puis c'est en toute confiance car l accord entre la France et le Pérou, autorise les français à séjourner jusqu'à 90 jours sans visas!
Nous fonçons a l'immigration pour finalement entendre que nous réglerons le problème à la frontière moyennant finance. Nous remontons dans un bus direction Tacna. Des centaines de kilomètres de désert. Du sable et des cailloux. Jamais nous n'aurions imaginé si grand espace sans vie. Tout au plus quelques cactus. Arrivée 17 heures. Ça fait 18 heures de bus depuis Cusco. Nous n'avons pas le courage de passer la frontière donc dodo dans un hôtel à proximité du terminal de bus.
We open our eyes to Arequipa. It's 7:30 a.m. We need to deal with an administrative problem as a matter of urgency. The day before, while checking our passports, we noticed the inscription 15 TUR on the entry stamp in Peru. After intelligence, that is what we fear. We've been underground for two weeks. We only had a 15-day stay permit. So why how, we do not know too much, as a reminder we crossed the Peruvian border in the middle of the night, at 3:00 in the morning, so not well awake. We go into immigration and finally hear that we will solve the problem at the border for a fee. We get back on a bus to Tacna. Hundreds of miles of desert. Sand and pebbles. Never would we have imagined such a large lifeless space. At most a few cacti. Arrival 5 p.m. It's been an 18-hour bus ride from Cusco. We don't have the courage to cross the border so sleep in a hotel near the bus terminal.

Tacna, PerouRetour au terminal. Après discussion avec les chauffeurs, nous prenons l'option voiture collectivo. Une voiture avec 5 passagers et un chauffeur. Ça ça fait bien clandē. On part quand c'est plein et pour 20 soles on est en une heure à la frontière , puis pour finir à Arica, au Chili.
A la sortie du Pérou, sous l'oeil blasé du douanier, nous nous acquittons de la taxe de dépassement de séjour. 4 soles par jour et par personne. Conforme à ce que nous avait annoncé la personne du bureau d immigration, Ça aurait pu être pire.
Encore un bon moyen que les Péruviens ont trouvés pour te prendre de l argent, à toi touriste! Quand tu vois comment les clandestins, les vrais , entrent et sortent sans problèmes, c'est un peu du foutage de gueule! Tant pis pour nous, nous aurions pu faire modifier cette date sans frais avant la fin des 15 jours autorisés! Encore fallait il le savoir:-):-):-) C est la première fois de tous nos voyages ( et il y en a eu plus d un) que l on voit un délai imposé sur le passeport alors que les lois autorisent jusqu'à 90 jours.
L'accueil au Chili est plutôt cordial. Les trois mots de français baragouinēs par le policier sont la porte d'entrée vers le grand sud. Notre chauffeur nous abandonne à Arika. Changement de terminal et re bus vers Iquique. Encore 5 heures de sable. La on va se poser. Nous rêvons de poissons et de fruits de mer.

Tacna, Perou
Back to the terminal. After discussion with the drivers, we take the car collectivo option. A car with 5 passengers and a driver. That's a good cland. We leave when it's full and for 20 soles we're in an hour at the border, then finish in Arica, Chile.
At the exit of Peru, under the jaded eye of the customs officer, we pay the tax of overstay. 4 soles per day per person. In line with what the person at the immigration office told us, it could have been worse.
Another good way the Peruvians have found to take money from you, a tourist! When you see how the illegals, the real ones, come in and out without problems, it's a bit of a rant! Too bad for us, we could have had this date changed without charge before the end of the 15 days allowed! Still it had to be known:-):):)) This is the first time of all our trips (and there have been more than one) that.there is a deadline imposed on the passport when the laws allow up to 90 days.
The welcome in Chile is rather cordial. The three words of French baragouins by the policeman are the gateway to the far south. Our driver abandons us in Arika. Change of terminal and re bus to Iquique. Five more hours of sand. We're going to land. We dream of fish and seafood.
